- ➤ Wake Forest residents supported Ericka Ruffin Lucas—former principal and coach's wife—after she was hit by gunfire on Aug. 29 near East Nelson Avenue; police said a teen is suspected in the shooting and her family said she remains in the hospital. ABC 11

- ➤ North Wake Theatre will present two performances of “The Marvelous Wonderettes” on Saturday, Sept. 20 at the Wake Forest Renaissance Centre—located at 405 S. Brooks St.—with showtimes at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. Advance tickets cost $20 for adults and $10 for ages 16 and younger, available in person at the Renaissance Centre Box Office or by phone at 919-435-9458. - ➤ The Wake Forest Renaissance Centre invites veteran, reserve and active-duty military artists to submit up to three art works for its upcoming Veteran Art Show.
