On Monday, May 11, a ceremony at Hayes Barton Baptist Church in Raleigh honored 25 fallen Wake County officers as part of National Police Week; several city buildings were lit blue to remember those killed in the line of duty.

On May 8, Wake Forest Parks held ribbon-cuttings to open Dunn Creek Greenway Phases 3 and 4 and Miller Park at 401 Elm Ave. The greenway adds 2.42 miles of trails connecting local parks, and Miller Park now features improved picnic areas, trails, and a restored stream (Phase 1 upgrades).
