  • Wake County officials say that the FAA's new market rate lease requirement forces the permanent closure of the Lake Crabtree County Park trails along Aviation Parkway and I-40 starting June 2 — a decision that has disappointed frequent users. County leaders plan to expand trails in the area — though they have not set a timeline yet.  ABC 11
  • On Saturday, families from across the Triangle gathered at shelter 8 on Jordan Lake to remember loved ones lost to drowning, sharing memories and urging better water safety—such as wearing life jackets and swimming in designated areas.   • Wake County man Damain Rayshawn Cummings – 30, of Zebulon, was charged on April 30 with 21 insurance-related crimes including identity theft, insurance fraud, obtaining property by false pretense and attempting to obtain property by false pretense, as announced by North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey.  The Wake Weekly
