- ➤ Wake County officials say that the FAA's new market rate lease requirement forces the permanent closure of the Lake Crabtree County Park trails along Aviation Parkway and I-40 starting June 2 — a decision that has disappointed frequent users. County leaders plan to expand trails in the area — though they have not set a timeline yet. ABC 11
- ➤ On Saturday, families from across the Triangle gathered at shelter 8 on Jordan Lake to remember loved ones lost to drowning, sharing memories and urging better water safety—such as wearing life jackets and swimming in designated areas. - ➤ Wake County man Damain Rayshawn Cummings – 30, of Zebulon, was charged on April 30 with 21 insurance-related crimes including identity theft, insurance fraud, obtaining property by false pretense and attempting to obtain property by false pretense, as announced by North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey.
