Good morning, Wake Forest. Here's your local news at a glance for Saturday, the 12th of April.

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Advocates and lawmakers marked April as Distracted Driving Awareness Month in North Carolina and warned that 30 fatal incidents so far—compared to 147 last year—show a moment’s distraction can be deadly. They said using a cell phone, eating, or fiddling with controls takes drivers’ eyes off the road.  ABC 11

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Wake County School Superintendent Robert Taylor’s proposed budget for next school year removes the district’s dental insurance contribution—saving $2.5 million while causing an extra cost of $28 monthly per employee.
