As the government reopens today, local groups and individuals in the Triangle are stepping in to support families who missed out on food assistance during the shutdown.
Parktown Food Hub and its partners delivered food boxes (and a hot meal) to 160 families while many more wait for help.
💼 Business
Homeowner Candace paid deposits for a sunroom project with Four Seasons Sunrooms in April and September 2024, but no crew or materials arrived—she says the company, which blamed labor shortages and rising costs, failed to start work as promised.
The business has issued a partial refund and offered a future check while another customer also reports delays—NC Attorney General’s Office is now involved.
