- ➤ On Tuesday, several towns and schools in the Triangle held Veterans Day events to honor former service members, with ceremonies in Cary, Apex, Garner and an early morning run at NC State. University of North Carolina unveiled a wall of honor — featuring 61 former Tar Heels who served — as local leaders and veterans recalled sacrifices and stressed the need for ongoing support. ABC 11
- ➤ Jalen Snipes will run 150 miles from Raleigh to Charlotte on Friday at 8 a.m. to raise money for the North Carolina Firefighters Fund—he was inspired after his childhood home burned down and by the brave firefighters who saved him; his company has matched over $5,000 in donations with an additional $10,000 rising. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Gov. Josh Stein on Tuesday presented a check for over $3.3M to the Food Bank of Central and Eastern NC (citing rising food needs during the shutdown) and said he hopes a pending deal in Washington (which would restart SNAP benefits) will let benefits resume by the end of the week. ABC 11

- ➤ State health officials warn parents that an infant botulism outbreak is linked to ByHeart Inc. Whole Nutrition Infant Formula. Fifteen infants have been reported in 12 states & one case in North Carolina is under investigation with no deaths reported. ABC 11
