COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Residents can now pick up free copies of the 2026 wall calendar at Town Hall, 301 S. Brooks St, other Town facilities, and online. The calendar lists all Town events and holidays from January to December and features photos of local festivities.  City of Wake Forest
  • The Wake Forest Human Relations Council will host the 2026 Minority & Women-Owned Business Expo on Feb. 28 from 1-4 p.m. at the Wake Forest Renaissance Centre on 405 S. Brooks St.—vendor applications are free and accepted until Dec. 1 with a limit of 36 booths.  City of Wake Forest
  • Pictures with Santa will be available at The Graham above the Cotton Company during the Wake Forest Cares Holiday Kick-off on Nov. 15 from 12:30–4 p.m. and during the Downtown Holiday Open House on Dec. 6 from 10 a.m.–3 p.m.; advance registration opens Monday, Nov. 3 at 10 a.m.  City of Wake Forest

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Beginning at dusk Tuesday evening, November 4, and continuing through dawn November 12, Town Hall at 301 S. Brooks St. and street towers along East Owen Avenue will glow green to support veterans—residents and businesses are invited to participate in Operation Green Light by changing a light bulb to green.  City of Wake Forest
  • Two federal judges ruled that SNAP benefits for over 1.4 million North Carolinians must continue, but many wait as their aid is delayed starting today. North Carolina Attorney General Jeff Jackson said the Agriculture Department has until Monday to show a plan—heightening concerns for those struggling with food insecurity.  ABC 11

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • Wake County officials say the Bridge to Home program has helped more than 3,300 people move into permanent housing. The program, which grew out of a COVID-era effort to use hotels for housing, offers transportation, housing navigation, and flexible financial help—supporting residents in need.  ABC 11
