- ➤ The Wake Forest Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Department is collecting gently used coats and jackets until Oct. 25 as part of its annual Warm Your Hearts with Coats Drive. - ➤ Today, thousands will gather at the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Hindu Mandir at 1020 Aviation Pkwy in Morrisville to celebrate Diwali, where community members will pray for blessings and offer traditional food. - ➤ Alumni and community members are split over the $141M renovation of the historic Ligon school—Superintendent Robert Taylor said the selected architect will hold public discussions to decide next steps. - ➤ Starting Nov. 9, GoTriangle will take over the Wake Forest-Raleigh Express service from GoRaleigh and run hourly weekday trips from 6 a.m.—8 p.m. with added stops along South Main Street at Walmart and Aldi so riders can travel between Wake Forest, Raleigh Union Station, and Triangle Town Center. - ➤ Cleveland High School football player Krisjon Clark collapsed during Friday night’s game against Southeast Raleigh and was quickly treated with compressions and a shock from an AED.
