- ➤ The Wake County Animal Center is offering $25 adoptions for dogs that have stayed over two weeks and $5 adoptions for cats as it celebrates National Adopt a Shelter Dog Month and National Pit Bull Appreciation Month—each pet is spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped while the center remains open daily from noon to 6 p.m. except on holidays.
