  • Wake County deputy Anthony Garcia credited his crisis intervention training for saving a teen (15) who was seen hanging near a bridge on the Neuse River, and his swift aid ensured the young person received the help needed before the situation worsened.  ABC 11

LIFESTYLE NEWS

  • The Wake County Animal Center is offering $25 adoptions for dogs that have stayed over two weeks and $5 adoptions for cats as it celebrates National Adopt a Shelter Dog Month and National Pit Bull Appreciation Month—each pet is spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped while the center remains open daily from noon to 6 p.m. except on holidays.  ABC 11
