GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Since Monday, Sept. 29, Gaines and Co. reduced Star Road between Moonbow Trail and Via Fortunata Plaza to one lane from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays to widen the road, and the work will continue until Oct. 10. Motorists may experience delays – flaggers and signage are positioned to direct traffic safely. City of Wake Forest
- ➤ The Town of Wake Forest will start its annual loose leaf collection program on Monday, Oct. 6 and run through Friday, March 13, 2026. Residents must prepare leaves and yard waste per the guidelines—raking leaves into piles and keeping brush separate—to ensure crews can service streets twice each month. City of Wake Forest
- ➤ Local officials and veterans groups will host the 65th Wake Forest Memorial Flag-Raising Ceremony on Monday, Oct. 6 at 11 a.m. in Town Hall’s Centennial Plaza to honor Patrick McLivain—a US Army veteran—with patriotic songs, special remarks, a memorial wreath laying and a ceremonial flag raising by the Fire Department Honor Guard as both the American and Army service flags fly in the plaza throughout October.
