- ➤ Wake County Emergency Management hosted kit-building events at 18 libraries — including Green Road Library — on Saturday during National Preparedness Month to prepare residents for hurricanes, floods, tornadoes and manmade emergencies. Officials said the free kits include a flashlight, first aid supplies and pet safety instructions and advised residents to sign up for local alert systems and tailor their emergency supplies. ABC 11
