More than 3,000 Duke Energy customers in Wake County lost power Saturday afternoon after downed lines forced the closure of Burlington Mills Road in Wake Forest between 1 World Way and Urial Drive.
Duke Energy officials investigated the cause while drivers were urged to avoid the area.

Strong storms hit Wendell Falls around 4 p.m. Saturday, causing high winds & heavy rain that knocked down trees and disrupted power across the community; residents reported damage to homes and businesses as emergency crews cleared debris.
