  • Brian Alexander Taulton, a 57-year-old man, was arrested on September 3 in Wake County for a driveway scam that defrauded elderly locals of nearly $100,000—he faces further charges in multiple states and is set to appear in court on September 25.  ABC 11

EDUCATION NEWS

  • High school students across North Carolina who meet the new 22-credit graduation rule can graduate early to earn a state scholarship for what would have been their fourth year, starting in the 2025-2026 school year. Millbrook Magnet is offering this program, which was established by the October 2023 Appropriations Bill—motivating students to begin their college journey sooner.  ABC 11
