- ➤ A Wake County detention officer, 31-year-old Hilary Seekins, was arrested Wednesday, September 3rd after deputies alleged she supplied contraband—including cocaine, synthetic marijuana—K2—and suboxone to inmates at the John H. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Officials revealed new education numbers for Wake County at a State Board meeting on September 3, which showed the state exam proficiency rate increased to 64.2% and the four-year graduation rate reached a record 91.3%—data from the Department of Public Instruction. ABC 11
- ➤ Wake County Superintendent Dr. Robert Taylor, Durham Superintendent Dr. Anthony Lewis and Cumberland Superintendent Dr. Eric Bracy spoke with ABC11 News about improving school safety—discussing weapons detection systems and human checks that protect students and staff.
