On August 25, a North Carolina man from Harnett County bought a Powerball Quick Pick ticket at Bass Country Store after seeing the jackpot soar to $1 billion—he later claimed a $150,000 win and said he was shaking from the excitement.

He plans to use the prize money for home renovations and buying a car.

Wake Forest Power crews are working on a power outage affecting over 600 customers along and west of South Main Street/US 1A.
