- ➤ Scammers are targeting students and parents during back-to-school season by using details from social media posts and sending fake scholarship and job offers—The Better Business Bureau urges buyers in Wake Forest to limit shared data and verify offers before paying. ABC 11
- ➤ Wake County man Noa Najee Lorenzetti, 27, was indicted for murdering an unborn child after investigators found his victim was pregnant when she died on May 6, 2024 near Raleigh — he remains in custody at the Wake County Detention Center. ABC 11

- ➤ Wake Forest Power earned three Public Power Awards of Excellence—honoring its efforts to strengthen public power, provide superior service and prioritize its people—after the ElectriCities Annual Meeting in Myrtle Beach from August 11-13.
