  • The Auburn Knightdale Road Bridge is being renamed to honor Deputy Ned Byrd after a sheriff's office request was approved. A dedication ceremony will be held today at 11 a.m. at Springfield Baptist Church in Knightdale—Byrd was killed during a traffic stop three years ago.  ABC 11

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Weather permitting, Iron Horse Contractors will reduce Wait Avenue to one lane—creating intermittent two-way traffic from Stone Park Drive to Mackie Park Drive—Monday and Tuesday, Aug. 18-19, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. to complete road widening at the future Quail Crossing Subdivision as crews face delays from inclement weather and flaggers along with clear signage will guide motorists.  City of Wake Forest
