- ➤ The Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina, which serves over 30 counties, says cuts to SNAP and other federal programs will worsen food insecurity as rising prices add pressure. President and CEO Amy Beros warned that when the cuts take effect next year, donations and state funding may not fill the gap — the impact could be dire for many children, disabled, and elderly people.
