  • NCFST and Ripe for Revival will host a mobile grocery store tomorrow at 350 E. Holding Ave. from 3-4:30 p.m. across from the Northern Regional Center. The market offers fresh produce, protein and eggs from local and regional farmers + health representatives from Southeastern Healthcare and BlueCross BlueShield Medicare will be on site to assist customers.  City of Wake Forest

CRIME NEWS

  • The family of Giovanni Pelletier, an 18-year-old Wake County teen who went missing while on vacation in Florida, said local law enforcement's delayed search led to his body being found on Tuesday near his abandoned backpack and phone—prompting them to call for FBI involvement.  ABC 11

ECONOMY NEWS

  • The National Retail Federation estimates that families will spend $875 on back-to-school shopping this season and local stores like Little Oak Collective in Wake Forest offer second-hand options, promo codes, and trade-ins to help reduce costs—shoppers are encouraged to use these savings strategies.  ABC 11

EDUCATION NEWS

  • School resource officers, principals, and WCPSS administrators met at Millbrook High School yesterday to discuss school safety and introduce the Rave Panic Button app for all faculty—82 schools took part. Officials said the successful 2024 pilot will lead to a wider rollout in more schools beginning February 17, 2026 as part of a new community policing model.  ABC 11
  • Wake County Public Schools is working to add a dedicated therapist in all 198 schools by the end of the school year while currently serving 125 schools with mental health support. District leaders are also expanding group grief counseling and speeding up referrals, with contractors on standby for quick HVAC repairs—ensuring students' well-being during hot, humid weather.  ABC 11
