- ➤ US-501 between Weeks Drive and Old Durham Road was closed at 2:45 p.m. on Monday, July 21 — crews began emergency repairs on a broken water main. The repair is expected to take several days — local and commercial traffic remains affected. ABC 11
- ➤ North Carolina's highway safety program and law enforcement launched a weeklong campaign called Speeding Catches Up With You on Monday, July 21 to remind drivers to obey speed limits, allow extra time for travel, and avoid distractions—state troopers will focus on stopping speeding and aggressive driving to reduce crashes that caused nearly 400 deaths in 2024.
