  • Journeymen Triangle is the June Triangle NC Cares Award winner for mentoring young men ages 13-19 and modeling healthy masculinity—helping guide their emotional growth. The monthly award, given since 2019 to local nonprofits making a strong impact, recognizes the group's community contributions.  ABC 11

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Raleigh Water will reduce traffic to one lane along South Main Street between West Sycamore Avenue and Vernon Avenue today from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. as crews replace a galvanized water service on the 500 block — drivers should plan alternative routes due to expected delays.  City of Wake Forest
  • State leaders are preparing for the hurricane season as clean-up continues from Hurricane Helene — Gov. Josh Stein said federal cuts have weakened NOAA and FEMA and that new state funding and improved response plans are planned. Director William Ray described better equipment placement and route reviews to help communities during storms.  ABC 11
