  • The Wake Forest Police Department will host a Touch-A-Truck fundraiser for Special Olympics NC on Saturday, Aug.16 from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at The Factory (1839 S. Main St.). Families and children can explore police cars, fire trucks, a helicopter, a boat, a Humvee and military vehicles while paying $5 per person or $20 per family, with proceeds helping Special Olympics NC.  The Wake Weekly

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Environmental nonprofit Sound Rivers will launch its 8th Swim Guide program on Friday, May 30, to test water quality at over 50 local sites through Labor Day—volunteers will collect samples to help local officials fix pollution issues.  The Wake Weekly
