  • Raleigh police released body cam videos from the fatal crash on October 7th, 2024 — a judge ordered the footage to explain why over 180 cases were dismissed, and investigators continue to review trooper Garret Macario’s actions while he remains on administrative leave.  ABC 11

ECONOMY NEWS

  • A provision in the House’s 'One Big Beautiful Bill Act' would remove tobacco from the duty drawback program—putting North Carolina’s tobacco growers and manufacturers at risk of higher export costs and lost revenue as they depend on refunds to stay competitive, and local groups like Tobacco Associates Inc. have opposed the change.  The Wake Weekly
