- ➤ State officials confirmed the spotted lanternfly in a two-mile radius near Reidsville in Rockingham County as they ramp up year-round surveys to prevent further spread. Experts say the invasive pest threatens the grape and wine industries by harming over 100 plant species and urge residents to inspect outdoor surfaces for egg masses. ABC 11
