- ➤ Jonathan Santillan — a 28-year-old convicted for the 2013 double homicide of a Garner couple — was mistakenly paroled in March due to incomplete paperwork and returned to prison on May 7 after Garner police charged him in a shooting on April 21 that involved a 9mm handgun and illegal marijuana. - ➤ A Wake County motorcyclist died on May 6 on Turnipseed Road near Wendell when an aggressive driver honked and sped past his motorcycle ride with his two sons, prompting his family to ask the public for help in identifying the vehicle—an online fundraiser has been set up to support funeral costs.
