- ➤ Adrienne Thorpe Barnes of Wake Forest was charged with two counts of simple assault and accessory after the fact for fighting at Big Ed’s on Falls of Neuse Road in Raleigh on Mother's Day (she is accused of punching two women and aiding her 23-year-old son, who fired shots, while a restaurant manager was injured) and another man from her home also faces assault charges. - ➤ The Wake County Public School System has unveiled a new mobile command vehicle that will be used during emergencies — like lockdowns and mass checkouts — to improve communication between school officials, families, and law enforcement. The vehicle is part of a state grant-funded project aimed at enhancing safety in local schools. ABC 11
