  • Little Oak Collective, a consignment store in Wake Forest and Raleigh, offers a curated mix of secondhand clothing, toys, books and gear for children as tariffs may soon raise prices for new baby products—90% of which could be affected—and the store plans to open a third location in Cary soon.   • The Wake County Sheriff’s Office warned residents Monday about a door-to-door scam involving pine straw and mulch where scammers deliver extra product and demand more money—homeowners should get written estimates and call law enforcement if something feels off.  ABC 11

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Genentech announced Monday, May 12 that it will build a $700 million, 700,000-square-foot manufacturing plant in Holly Springs expected to create over 400 new jobs and bring an annual payroll impact of over $50 million—this project is projected to boost the state's economy by more than $3 billion over 12 years.  ABC 11

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Wake Forest Police announced seven intersections with the highest accident rates from January 2021 to March, noting that failure to reduce speed, inattention, and distracted driving were common factors, and a red light operation at Capital Boulevard resulted in 12 stops—an effort they will continue to carry out to improve safety.  City of Wake Forest

HEALTH NEWS

  • Wake Forest Center for Active Aging will host 'Move Today for a Better Tomorrow' on May 28 from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.—a free event at 235 E.
