  • Jurors resumed deliberations Friday in the trial of 31-year-old Christopher McCullough, accused of fatally beating his mother — he admitted hitting his father but denied intentionally killing her, and closing arguments finished Thursday morning.  ABC 11

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Wake County’s Solid Waste division is working with BrandBuilders to offer Earth Machines for one month at $54.95, half the usual price. Customers can order online through May 31 and pick up their bins at North Wake’s facility from mid-June — each order comes with a 20-page composting handbook.  The Wake Weekly

HEALTH NEWS

  • Trader Joe's issued a recall last Friday on packages of sesame miso salad with salmon after 500 units were mistakenly packed with parmesan cheese crumbles (a milk allergen) instead of crispy onions, and customers were advised to throw the item away or return it for a refund.  ABC 11
