- ➤ David Gessner’s new book tells the story of Flaco, the Eurasian eagle-owl who escaped from Central Park Zoo in February 2023 after vandals broke his cage and later died after suffering a viral infection and rodenticide poisoning. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Local transportation officials presented four options today to convert Capital Boulevard into a toll road that will ease congestion on U.S.1 and improve traffic flow. The proposals include expressway upgrades and tolled inner lanes with dynamic pricing—public sessions will be held on April 30 at 5 p.m. at Abbott’s Creek Community Center and on May 5 at 5 p.m. at the Wake Forest Renaissance Centre for the Arts.
