Wake Forest Fire Department will host its annual Fish Fry on Friday, April 17 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Fire Station #1, 420 Elm Ave (plates cost $10 each and include fried flounder, boiled potatoes, coleslaw and hush puppies) with proceeds benefiting the Wake Forest Firefighters Foundation.

A new inflation report shows inflation reached 3.3% in March as surging energy costs increased fuel prices, with a local driving school reworking routes to cope with gas at $3.94 a gallon — upcoming US-Iran talks could prompt lower rates.

Erica Shingleton, Athletics Program Coordinator at the PRCR Department in Wake Forest, earned her Certified Park and Recreation Professional (CPRP) credential by passing a 150-question exam.

She is the eighth PRCR team member to earn this national standard.
