  • Tax experts warn local residents to remain alert for scammers using emails, texts (and calls that seem to come from the IRS) to steal refunds and identities ahead of Tax Day on April 15, advising them to verify all IRS communications directly.  ABC 11

SPORTS NEWS

  • NC State women beat Tennessee 76-61 Friday night in the NCAA tournament opener as Zamareya Jones scored a career-high 30 points. The Wolfpack will play Michigan on Sunday in the second round.  ABC 11
  • North Carolina beat Western Illinois 82-51 in the women’s NCAA tournament on Friday night, with Nyla Harris (17 points) and Lanie Grant (15 points) leading the Tar Heels. The team will face Maryland on Sunday in the second round.  ABC 11
