ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Firefighters contained a wind-whipped brush fire that spread from a wooded area into an abandoned home on Wednesday evening and Thursday morning in eastern Wake County, and officials urged residents to exercise caution with outdoor fires amid dry conditions. ABC 11
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Wake Preparatory Academy’s eighth graders, chosen through a citizenship essay and many with family who served, will travel to Arlington National Cemetery later this week to lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, continuing their annual tradition of honoring military sacrifice (RAISE values in action). SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ North Carolina Courage will begin their season tomorrow at First Horizon Stadium at WakeMed Soccer Park with a new coach and many new players. The team faces Louisville at 7 p.m. as they aim to build on last season’s record crowd. ABC 11
