The Town of Wake Forest (with local veterans groups) will host its 66th Memorial Flag-Raising Ceremony on April 6 at 11 a.m. at Town Hall’s Centennial Plaza to honor Dave Monro, a US Army veteran, with patriotic songs, special remarks, a memorial wreath laying and ceremonial flag raising.

Saks Fifth Avenue in Raleigh will close in May as the chain cites performance and customer trends, and Macy's will shut at Triangle Town Center at the end of April; Wake Forest resident Chaney Hawthorne said shoppers now choose online+mixed-use spaces over traditional malls.
