  • Wake Forest invites soloists aged 16 and older to apply for an acapella National Anthem performance at the 2026 Fireworks Spectacular on Friday, July 3, inside Husky Stadium at Heritage High School. Applicants must submit a recent video by Friday, March 20 (the PRCR Advisory Board will review entries based on vocal quality and stage presence).  City of Wake Forest

ECONOMY NEWS

  • A tourism report shows increasing visitation in 2025 as Wake County grows despite lower hotel occupancy. Over 350 events booked for 2026 promise a $190 million boost to the local economy, with strong corporate travel + diverse visitor groups drawing attention.  ABC 11

  • On Wednesday, Feb. 19, Wake Forest beat Clemson 85-77 with strong plays from Juke Harris (20 points) and Sebastian Akins (16 points) to secure a three-game win streak, and the Demon Deacons will face Virginia Tech on Saturday.  ABC 11
